WHAT IS SITEMAP?
A map of a website. It is either an XML or HTML file that contains all the URLs of the pages on a website/blog.
The HTML sitemap helps a visitor to navigate through a website/blog whereas XML sitemap is used by bots to crawl through a site for search engines
HOW TO MAKE SITEMAP FOR BLOGGER
FIRST, log in to your Google search console or webmaster tools and click on the sitemaps option on the left side of your dashboard
SECOND, you need to create and enter a sitemap for your site which can be done if different ways. I use the method and I think it’s the simplest one I know
Just need to change the word ‘your domain’ to your domain or URL and click on the submit button
LASTLY, If it works you can see success under the status.
As long as you don’t make a mistake entering the details the success rate is high from my experience
HOW TO MAKE SITEMAP FOR WORDPRESS
From my experience, this is not necessary as long as your website has a search console account or webmaster tools. Google search engine bots pick up fairly quickly but will still take a few weeks
Login to your search console and click on the sitemaps option
SECOND, create a sitemap for your site and enter the code
https://yourdomain/sitemap.xml (enter your domain or URL instead of ‘your domain’)
It might not work in your first try but doesn’t mean it will never. I am just sharing my experience
LASTLY, When you see success under that status it works but will take some time for all the number of URL’s to be shown
HOW TO REMOVE SITEMAP FROM GOOGLE SEARCH CONSOLE
A few reasons I can think of is when you enter sitemap it couldn’t fetch, read or you change your domain or URL’s
FIRST, Go to your Google search console or webmaster tools and click on the sitemaps option
SECOND, Click on the sitemap you want to remove
THIRD, It will load a new page, click on the three dots which are placed vertically on the upper right side and click on the trash can or remove sitemap
LASTLY, It will show you a small popup page and click on the Remove button
